Our dogs depend on us to be their guide, and teach them the rules and customs of living in our ever-changing world. Dogs are masters of observing our body language, studiously trying to figure out what we want. If only we weren’t so often inconsistent and even contradictory with our messages!

Consultation
Initial Consultation
90 minutes, In your home - $195
Every training program begins with an initial consultation with you and your dog in your home environment. During this visit we will help you prioritize your long and short-term training goals and select the program that works best for you and your dog.
TrueLove takes a holistic approach to training, starting with an understanding of canine behavior. After all, a relationship of mutual trust and communication begins when we seek to understand the other.
Like us, dogs need appropriate nutrition and exercise - both physical and mental - to feel fulfilled and perform their best. We consider your dog’s instinctual needs based on their breed/type and individual disposition. We assess you and your dog’s lifestyle, and help you make changes where necessary to optimize your relationship and training. You may be surprised how small tweaks in your established routine can make dramatic differences immediately!
We will instruct you how to use management and prevention strategies right away to break the cycle of unwanted behaviors. Finally, we will begin to teach your dog what TO DO, with foundation training exercises.
We will cover quite a bit in 90 minutes! You will receive a review email with detailed notes, helpful links and videos. Armed with some new understanding of canine behavior and your first homework, you and your dog will have taken the first big step on your training journey together.

Congratulations! You have a new puppy and want to start of on the right paw from the beginning.
Or maybe you have a new dog, or an old dog - who could use some better basic manners.
We will show you how to live with your dog in a way that fulfills him mentally and physically, so that he is healthy and content which means a calmer and happier family companion.
We will teach you to communicate clearly with your dog so that he understands what you want, and is happy to cooperate.

Obedience for Real Life

In this program we train YOU to train your dog! Build a clear, fair communication system so that your dog understands what you want and responds to your requests even under distraction.
A well-trained dog is a pleasure to live with and a welcome companion on more of life’s adventures. Our training is compassionate, scientific, and aimed at giving your dog more of what he wants most in life - quality time with YOU.
On-Leash skills covered in this program include Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave it and Leash Manners.
The Obedience for Real Life program is typically completed in 6 one-hour sessions.

Home School Program
Training, like any skill, takes practice! But we know life is super busy. Let a skilled professional trainer (Me!) do the heavy lifting for you.
Better than a ‘board and train’ program, because your dog learns the new behaviors and skills in their home environment, and you won’t have to miss them!
You will still need to learn to enforce your dog’s new skills, so our Home School package includes a private lesson at the end of each training week, plus a follow-up lesson 2-3 weeks after training.
The Home School program is typically completed in 4 weeks with 4 one hour sessions per week.
